Privacy Policy
AI Audit ("we", "us", the "extension") is built privacy first. This policy explains what we do, and do not, collect when you use the AI Audit Chrome extension and this website (aiaudit.space).
In short: Your AI prompts, the answers you capture, your screenshots, and your Campaign ad lines and links stay on your device. They are never sent to our servers, never sold, and never shared.
1. Information that stays on your device
The following is stored locally in your browser (using Chrome local storage and IndexedDB) and is never transmitted to us:
- Your questions and prompts.
- Answers you capture from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or any other AI.
- Screenshots you take with the Guide feature, and files you attach.
- Your Campaign library: ad lines, folders, links, pins, and how often each line was used.
- Your settings, custom prompts and audit history.
You can clear this data at any time from within the extension, or by removing the extension.
How cross checking works: the audit works by sharing answers between the AIs you selected. During the compare steps and the final judge step, each selected AI's answer is included in prompts sent to your other selected AIs. This happens directly in your browser between your own AI accounts and their sites; it never passes through our servers, and we never see it. Each AI provider processes what you send it under its own privacy policy.
2. Campaign mode (Google Ads and Meta Ads)
- Ads editor. Campaign reads the ad fields of the Google Ads or Meta Ads editor you have open, to show which lines are already in the ad. It writes the lines you picked into empty fields only when you press Fill. You save or publish the ad yourself. Nothing from your ads account is sent to us.
- Text you copy. While the Campaign screen is open in the side panel, text you copy on a page is saved on your device as ad lines. Each section can be switched off. Nothing is saved while another screen is open or the side panel is closed.
- Clipboard (optional). Read only if you turn on "Auto save" for links. Chrome asks for this permission at that moment. It works only while the side panel is open, and only links are kept.
- Add this page. Saves the address and title of the tab you are viewing, only when you press it.
- Video titles. For a YouTube link you save, the extension asks youtube.com for the video title. Only that link is sent, without cookies.
3. The AI Audit folder on your PC (optional)
You can pick the folder Downloads, AI Audit once in each Chrome profile. The extension uses it to:
- Keep your Campaign library there, so your other Chrome profiles on the same PC see the same lines, folders and links.
- Keep an encrypted copy of your sign in, so those profiles can sign in without a new email link. The key is made on your PC from its CPU model, memory size and operating system. It is never sent anywhere.
- Pass Guide questions between your own Chrome profiles on the same PC.
The folder stays on your PC. We do not receive or keep a copy of it.
4. Information we may process
- Account email. AI Audit needs a free account. When you sign in (by email link or with Google on this website) we receive your email address, used only to identify your account and your plan. The extension also reads your Chrome profile email on your device to link the plan to your account. To keep you signed in, a session token is stored locally in your browser and is sent to our server only to check your plan.
- Payment information. Paid plans are handled by Dodo Payments, our third party payment provider and merchant of record. Dodo collects and processes your payment details securely; we never see or store your full card number. Dodo is the seller of record for your purchase and handles billing, tax and refund processing.
- Device identifier (two device limit). To enforce a limit of two active devices per account, your browser sends a randomly generated per install identifier and a coarse device label (for example "Windows · Chrome") to our server. This ID is created on install, is not tied to any hardware or advertising identifier, and is used only to manage your device sessions. You can sign out a device yourself, and if you sign in on a third device the oldest device is signed out automatically to keep your account within the two device limit.
- Optional diagnostics. If you enable or export diagnostics, only anonymous technical error metadata (for example: which step failed, an error type, a timestamp) may be shared to help us fix bugs. This never includes your prompts, answers, ad lines or screenshots.
5. Browser permissions, and why we need them
- Access to websites (host permissions). The extension runs its send and capture scripts on the AI sites you use (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Perplexity). Access to other sites is used only for features you start: Guide (a screenshot of the page you are on, only when you press the screenshot button), AI sites you add yourself, the right click "Capture Selection" menu, and Campaign (the ads editor you have open, text you copy while the Campaign screen is open, and Add this page). Nothing from any page is sent to our servers.
- Storage. To save your settings, prompts, captured answers and Campaign library locally.
- Identity and email. To read your Chrome profile email on your device and link your plan to your account.
- Tabs and scripting. To open, find and arrange the AI tabs during a run, and to read and fill the ads editor you have open.
- Clipboard. To copy answers, prompts, ad lines and links when you press copy. Reading the clipboard is optional and used only for Auto save of links.
- Screenshots (active tab). Only when you take a screenshot in Guide mode; the image stays on your device.
- Display information. To read your screen size so Auto Audit can tile the AI windows to fit your monitor. This is read on your device and never transmitted.
- Downloads. To create the AI Audit folder inside Downloads once, and to save files you export.
- CPU and memory information. Read on your device only to make the key that protects the sign in copy in your AI Audit folder. Never transmitted.
- Offscreen page. A hidden extension page that answers Guide questions from your other Chrome profile while the side panel is closed.
- Notifications, right click menu and timers. To tell you when a Guide answer is ready, to save selected text as an AI's answer, and for timed checks such as the sign in check.
We request these permissions only to deliver the features above, not to collect your browsing history or personal content.
6. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or cross site retargeting trackers.
- We do not read or store your passwords for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google Ads, Meta or any site.
- We do not upload your prompts, answers, screenshots, ad lines or links to any server.
7. Third party services
When you use AI Audit alongside ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google Ads, Meta Ads or other websites, your interaction with those services is governed by their own privacy policies. AI Audit simply works inside your browser next to them.
Google Fonts. This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, Google receives standard request information (such as your IP address and browser type) needed to serve the font files. This applies to the website only, not to the extension, and no account, prompt or usage data is shared with Google.
Google Analytics. This website (not the extension) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. Google receives standard analytics data such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. This applies to the website only. Your AI prompts, answers, screenshots and audit history are never part of this and never leave your device. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode and no analytics cookies are stored on your device.
8. Data retention
Local data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the extension. Files in your AI Audit folder stay until you delete them. If you sign in, your account email and subscription record are retained while your account is active; you can ask us to delete them (see Contact). Payment records are held by Dodo Payments under their own policy.
9. Children
AI Audit is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
